Description
Throughout the steam era, different manufacturers and railroads used different trucks underneath their tenders. 6-wheel (3-axle) trucks were the most common in North America. The Commonwealth 10-foot wheelbase 3-axle truck by General Steel Castings was used by several different railroads, most notably under the tenders for the Delaware and Hudson 4-6-6-4 Challenger type locomotives.
Our model of the 10-foot 3-axle Commonwealth truck is scaled from railroad blueprints and will be designed to fit a variety of 36″ HO scale wheels. Bipolar pickups (wipers) will also be included. Make your steam engine real with these hard-to-find trucks!
